| Objective
of the Department |
|
The main objectives of this department are:
1. To train the fish farmers by imparting ten
days fishing program,
2. To provide the improved varieties of fish
seed to fish farmers on Govt. rate,
3. To settle the Govt. pond for long term (10
years) and for short term (3 years)
4. To develop Govt. pond by financing to the
leasee from commercial banks.
5. To provide subsidy against development of
ponds and construction of ponds in Pvt. &
Govt. sectors,
6. To impart extension services to the fish
farmer.
7. To progressively improve and bring an cultivable
fisheries resources under optimum fish
production.

| Schemes

a.
Finanacing against construction and
development of pond Rs. 2 lakh per ha.
finanacing through commercial banks for
the construction of ponds and Rs 60
thousand ha. for the renovation of
ponds.
Subsidy against construction and
development of pond is advisable at the
rate of 20% of the project cos. for SC
and St is 25%.,
b. Fish farmers training,
c. construction of 30 decimal pond for
ST farmers,
d. Machhuwa Awas Scheme.
e. Fish seed distribution.
