NATIONAL SAVINGS DEPARTMENT

 

 

Objective of the department

The department of National Savings which is under the control of ministry of finance, Govt of India is solely responsible for the publicity of various savings schemes and works for the promotion of the ideal of thrift as away of life among the people and for the mobilisation of their house hold savings for  the national development as the theme of organisation is to make saving movement a people movement.

To achieve its objectives the national savings department work in close coordination with the state government and department of posts.

The  department of posts runs the savings bank as an agent of the ministry of finance.

1. Savings Bank Account 2.RD accounts
2. Time deposit scheme
3. Monthly income scheme
4. 6 Year national savings certificate
5. Kisan Vikas Patra
6. Public provident fund
