of the Department |

Main
objective of the Department is to provide food
grains at specially subsidized rates to the
citizens identified as "below poverty
line" and senior citizens through public
stockists, hawkers and shop keepers under
various supply schemes implemented by state
govt. as well as Central Govt..

'Below
Poverty line families' means those
families who has been identified by the
State Govt. for issue of food grains at
specially subsidized rates adopting the
estimates of poverty line by the Central
Govt.

Antodaya
families means those poorest families
from amongst below poverty line
identified by State Govt. and entitled
to recieve food grains under Antodaya
Anna Yojna.

| Annapurna
Yojna (Yellow
Card) |
|
The
Annapurna scheme aims at providing food
security to meet the requirement of
those senior citizens who though
eligible, have uncovered under the
national old age pension scheme (NOAPS).
Under this scheme, 10 Kgs of foodgrains
(rice) per month are to be provided free
of cost to the beneficiary.
